Pitching, productions, personnel. 2008 brought new people and new projects to the 2bscene. We're particularly excited about a spectacular project in collaboration with an icon of imagination. 2bc has been asked to partner with the great Stan Lee, creator of extraordinary comic book characters and worlds of fantasy, including Spiderman, The Hulk, Fantastic Four, X-Men and Iron Man. We're working with his company, POW! Entertainment and long-time associates Sonny Grosso and Larry Jacobson. Sonny Grosso brings an exciting element to the project, since he was the detective who broke the French Connection case in New York (and who was the model for the character Popeye Doyle, played with academy award-winning flair by Gene Hackman). Grosso-Jacobson has created dozens of TV shows and movies and will be working with us to do the same with the new material.
And what material it's going to be. POW! Entertainment partners, Stan and Gill Champion, the guys who brought us two seasons of Who Wants to Be A Superhero for TBS and MTV's Stripperella (starring the voice of Pamela Anderson), have cooked up a doozie of a project featuring a whole new world of super heroes and villains.
Along with our new project with Stan, 2bc has begun a wonderful relationship with CBS Eye Too Productions. It started with a major series for Discovery Channel called NextWorld, a fascinating look at how we'll be living, working, traveling and playing by the middle of the 21st century. The hours we contributed focused on FutureFlight and FutureFun and they were a wild adventure to produce. As for the future of 2bc and CBS-well, we're now working together on series development.
Also now working with 2bc is the fabulous Tom Fox. Tom is our super CFO, our financial "go-to" guy. He's handling opportunities and offers, looking for the best for 2bc as we grow. You'll be hearing lots more from Tom as we pitch projects and perfect the ones already on our plate.
So keep an eye on '09 for all that 2bc can create!
